Retail and other outlets

Question: Where can I buy The Cape Aflame – Cape Town’s Dance with Fire?
Answer: You can buy the book from Takealot.com through our website. Simply press the Buy Now button and you will be taken to the takealot.com portal. The cover price includes free delivery throughout South Africa.

You can also buy The Cape Aflame from our preferred stockist and sponsor, Wizardz Print & Design, which has outlets at the Gardens, V&A Waterfront, Tyger Valley and Constantia Village shopping malls.

Independent booksellers, including the Botanical Society Bookshop at Kirstenbosch, stock The Cape Aflame – as do tourist and holiday destinations affected by the fire, such as Groot Constantia and Tintswalo Atlantic Lodge.

The Cape Aflame Project Team and its partner organisations will also be manning stalls at markets and malls throughout the holiday season.

Question: Can I ask for an invoice?
Answer: Should you need an invoice (for instance, in the case of larger orders), please send an e-mail to enquiries@capeaflame.org and we will generate one for you through the CPFPA.

Foreign orders

Question: I live outside South Africa. Am I able to order a copy of The Cape Aflame?
Answer: While we welcome foreign orders, we are unable to automate the process owing to delivery constraints.

We have, however, made provision for you to reserve a copy/ies of the book by submitting your details through the FOREIGN ORDERS form accessed from the home page.

Record the number of books you wish to order together with your contact and delivery details on the Foreign Order Form, fill in the Captcha code and click Send.

An e-mail will automatically be sent to us. We will collate foreign orders for processing and advise you of the delivery cost and other relevant details.

Delivery

Question: When will I receive my book?
Answer: If you order through Takealot.com’s online portal, Standard or Economy Delivery throughout South Africa will take two-to-four days following confirmation of payment.

Question: Do I have to pay for delivery?
Answer: The price of the book includes delivery to any place in South Africa.

Question: What do I need to show the courier when my book arrives?
Answer: It is important that you keep the confirmation e-mail we send you when you pay for your book. To take receipt of it, you will need to present an acceptable form of positive identification. In the absence of such identification, you will be asked to grant access to your confirmation e-mail.

Refunds

Question: If I do not receive the book, will I receive a refund?
Answer: We are subject to the Terms & Conditions of our distributors, who make provision for such eventualities. In the unlikely event of such misfortune, we will help you in every possible way.

Question: Can I return the book?
Answer: You may not return books that you have paid for. However, if your book is damaged in transit, you can arrange to return the book to us with its original packaging and we will send you a replacement.

Beneficiaries

Question: Can I choose the beneficiary I want to support?
Answer: Our beneficiaries have submitted formal motivations to us and have been subject to due diligence. They will share equally in profits from the sale of the book.

Question: How much will beneficiaries receive?
Answer: We will share all profits from the sale of the book equally among our beneficiaries. Approximately 40% of sales (after VAT) on the sale of the first print run will flow to beneficiaries.

Question: Will I be able to see how much you raise and hand over to beneficiaries?
Answer: We post regular updates on our website’s blog and will update you on sales. We will also publish the final amount handed to beneficiaries when the first print run is sold.
